The Brookdale Community College Foundation will host the 42nd annual Education Open Golf Tournament on Thursday, September 23, 2021, honoring Louis Scaduto Jr., president, CEO, and co-owner of Food Circus Supermarkets. The tournament will be held at Eagle Oaks Golf & Country Club in Farmingdale, NJ, to support scholarships and student success.
“We are grateful for all the sponsors and golfers of this event whose generosity means that hundreds of well deserving Brookdale students continue to receive the funds they need to pursue their education,” said Nancy Kaari, vice president of Advancement. “The many scholarships offered through the Foundation enable many students to earn their associate degree at Brookdale, transfer to four-year institutions to achieve their undergraduate degree, or start their career after completing a certificate program.”
The honoree, Scaduto, began his career in 1978 at 14. He attributes his strength in leadership to the values instilled by his parents, Grace and Lou, Sr. “Work hard, remain committed, stay strong and always show your respect and appreciation.” Their words are the guiding principles in Lou’s daily personal and professional life. After attending Brookdale Community College, Lou earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Monmouth College in 1986.
In addition to his career responsibilities, he currently serves as the vice chairman of Allegiance Retail Services. He is also an active member of the New Jersey Food Council, where he was honored to receive the 2013 Industry Achievement Award. In addition, he is a former Board Trustee of the Brookdale Community College Foundation and a recent Board Trustee of Lunch Break, Red Bank.
The tournament will be a full scramble starting with a shotgun start at 11:30 am. Many contests provide great fun at this all-day event, starting with brunch at 9:30 am and ending with a cocktail hour to start the post-play awards and outdoor patio dining.
Eagle Oaks features an 18-hole championship golf course with a Johnny Miller Signature Design associated with Golden Bear Associates. It also features an elegantly appointed 60,000 square foot clubhouse and golf shop with a southern colonial charm.
Foursomes and individuals are welcome to play or attend the dinner. Reserve today online or call 732-224-2260 to support the Brookdale Community College Foundation’s mission to help students achieve their dreams of earning a college degree.
