Brookdale Community College’s head women’s soccer coach, Nil Onder, has been named the Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) Coach of the Year. Onder is in her first official year as head coach for the Blues, as she was interim head coach of last spring’s alternative COVID-19 season.  

Onder is not new to the Brookdale Jersey Blues soccer program. She attended Brookdale as a student-athlete herself, was a standout midfielder during the 2008-2009 seasons, and was a member of the 2008 GSAC championship team.

Following her success as a soccer player, Onder returned to the field to be a volunteer coach under former head coach Katie Amundson, as she assisted the Blues to three consecutive national championship titles in 2013, 2014, & 2015. Onder was officially hired as the Assistant Coach in 2016 until her most recent hire as head coach.  

Coach Onder leads the 2021 Jersey Blues to a #5 national ranking, a #1 seed in the Region XIX playoffs, and an 8-2 overall season with an undefeated 6-0 conference record. Congratulations to Coach Nil Onder!
