Returns and Renewals

If items are not overdue, a one-time renewal is permitted, for the same loan period as when the item was initially borrowed. Materials may be renewed either in-person at the library or via online (books only). To renew online, go to the My Library Account login page on the Bankier Library website.

All borrowed materials must be returned by their due date via the Information or Circulation Desks or the Book Drop. Replacement bills instead of overdue notices will be sent to you for any overrdue library materials.

Restrictions and Replacement Costs

Failure to return library materials by their due date will result in a restriction placed on your library account. This restriction will prevent you from further borrowing privileges until your library obligations have been settled.

A replacement bill will be sent to recover the costs of overdue library materials. The bill includes a replacement cost as well as a non-refundable processing fee of $25.00 per item.

If an overdue item is paid for and then returned within one year from the due date, a refund for the replacement costs, minus the processing fee, will be given. A paid receipt may be required to obtain such refund.

Delinquent Library Account

The Bankier Library and Brookdale Community College reserves the right to forward all delinquent accounts to Collection Agencies.

Missing Materials

If the library catalog indicates that the item is “AVAILABLE” and the item is not on the shelf, report the missing item at any of the service desks. The library staff will search for the item, place the item on hold and notify you if it is located. If the item cannot be located, its status will be changed to “MISSING”.
