The Student Veterans Association (SVA) at Brookdale Community College recently participated in the national Wreaths Across America initiative, a heartfelt effort to honor and remember fallen veterans during the holiday season. This impactful program is rooted in its mission to “Remember, Honor, and Teach,” preserving the legacy of service members who sacrificed for freedom while educating future generations on the importance of that sacrifice.
As part of the ceremony, three veteran students proudly represented their branches of service by accepting wreaths, a symbolic gesture that highlights their ongoing commitment to honoring their fellow service members. Their participation in this solemn event reflected their deep respect for the military community and emphasized the SVA’s role as a cornerstone for veteran support at Brookdale.
Brookdale President Dr. David M. Stout joined the ceremony and affirmed the college’s dedication to supporting veterans and their families. This meaningful event reflects the SVA’s dedication to fostering respect and remembrance within the college and the wider community while ensuring that the sacrifices of America’s heroes are never forgotten.
This effort serves as a reminder of the significance of honoring those who served and the ongoing responsibility to teach future generations about the value of freedom.
