Brookdale Community College and the Athletic Department welcome the newly hired Mike O’Krepki, as the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach.
Raised locally in Ocean Township, NJ, and graduating from Ocean Township High School in 2005, Mike O’Krepki first began playing volleyball at the local Loch Arbor beach. He began competing in the local tournaments when he was 15 years old. Along with many years of beach competition, he began playing indoor recreational, then league volleyball in college, where he currently continues to play.
For the last two years, he has been an assistant coach with the Rumson Fair-Haven High School Girls’ Volleyball team and coaching Monmouth County club volleyball to players twelve to sixteen years. He previously attended Brookdale to earn his New Jersey teaching license through the Intro and Pathways to Teaching, an alternate route course.
“Volleyball has always been a favorite sport of mine due to the speed of the game and growing up with the local beach culture of the sport. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this program and can’t wait to meet the team and get started.”
