Come travel around the world in less than an hour with award-winning author Marty Essen’s high-energy, multi-media show/lecture “Around the World in 50 Minutes” on Thursday, March 5 in the Student Life Center at 11:45 a.m.
The presentation features interesting facts, humorous stories and thousands of photos Essen took while traveling the world. Part lecture, part theater, part slide-show and part comedy, “Around the World in 50 Minutes” will entertain and educate you. You will have fun laughing at the stories, enjoying the pictures and learning more about our incredible world and the animals that inhabit it.
Essen is an Amazon best-selling author. His first book, “Cool Creatures, Hot Planet: Exploring the Seven Continents” won six national awards including the Benjamin Franklin Award, the Best Books Book Award, the National Indie Excellence Award and was named a Top-10 “Green” book by the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
Essen’s second book, “Endangered Edens: Exploring the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, Costa Rica, the Everglades, and Puerto Rico,” is an Amazon Best Seller and won the National Indie Excellence Award for Nature, the Readers’ Favorite Book Award for Environment and two silver Nautilus Awards. After the show, Essen will be signing copies of his book.
