Applications Now Open for Honorary Degree Recipients

Brookdale College is delighted to declare the commencement of the application period for the nomination of candidates for the esteemed Honorary Degree. Following the criteria for the Official Recognition of Members of the Community and Guests of the College, the Honorary Degree Committee is actively encouraging nominations from both the public and the college community.

The Honorary Degree is a distinguished recognition for individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in various fields, contributing significantly to society. This recognition celebrates the individual and inspires the Brookdale community, showcasing exceptional role models for students, employees, trustees, and alums.

Nominations are open until Friday, January 26, 2024, providing ample time for individuals within the Brookdale College community and the public to put forth deserving candidates. The Honorary Degree Committee, comprised of respected college members, will review each nomination before making the final selection.

To be considered for this esteemed recognition, nominees must have excelled in one or more of the following areas:

• Professional Accomplishments: Candidates should have a proven track record of excellence in their respective professions, demonstrating leadership, innovation, and a positive impact on their field.
• Community/Public Service: Individuals nominated should be committed to community and public service, actively contributing to the betterment of society through their philanthropic endeavors and civic engagement.
• Personal Accomplishments: The committee is interested in recognizing individuals who have overcome challenges and demonstrated resilience, perseverance, and a commitment to personal growth and development.
• Inspirational Life Achievements: Nominees should have a story or life achievements that can serve as a source of inspiration for Brookdale students. Whether through overcoming adversity or achieving extraordinary success, the nominee should embody qualities that resonate with and motivate the college community.

The Honorary Degree will be awarded during the College Commencement ceremonies in May, marking a momentous occasion for both the recipient and the entire Brookdale College community. The recognition acknowledges the individual’s accomplishments and reinforces the values of excellence, service, and inspiration that Brookdale seeks to instill in its students.
