Cyndie Williams is a distinguished thought leader with decades of experience in the unionized construction industry, known for her collaborative approach and positive alliances. Starting as a union carpenter apprentice, she ascended to top-level leadership positions, leading grassroots and community organizing efforts. Currently, she heads the Carpenter Contractor Trust, representing 42,000 carpenters and thousands of signatory contractors across a six-state region, including New Jersey.
Appointed by Governor Phil Murphy to the Brookdale Community College Board of Trustees, Cyndie’s commitment to education and workforce development is evident. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Labor Studies and Employment Relations from Rutgers University and a Journey Level Carpenter certification. Her extensive experience includes roles such as Executive Director for The Carpenter Contractor Trust, Council Representative for the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, and Field Administrator for UBCNJCTF, INC, where she managed Job Corps programs and developed curricula.
Cyndie’s leadership extends to numerous committees, including the Eastern Atlantic States Sisters in the Brotherhood Program, Northwest New Jersey Central Labor Council, and the Monmouth County Workforce Development Board. Cyndie is also a Board Member of the New Jersey Energy Coalition.
