Our Zumba Instructors
Joanna Shearer Joanna has been a licensed Zumba instructor for 3 years and has taught Zumba at Brookdale since 2010. She began her dancing at the CreaDance ballroom academy in Poland. For three years she studied under Karolina Felska and Krzysztof Wasilewski, European ten dance Ballroom Dance Champions.
After she moved to the U.S., Joanna continued to develop her skills as a dancer and as a professional ballroom dance instructor at the Royal Ballroom School of Dance in NJ; Joanna earned a gold medal at the Garden State Olympic Games. After being certified in CPR she became a Latin Cardio workout instructor, working both with the able as well as ardiac arrest recovery patients. Joanna is licensed to teach Zumba, Zumba Gold and Zumatomic. Joanna finds freedom in expressing herself through the power of movement and loves sharing her excitement with her students.
Nancy Eccles Nancy is a seasoned instructor who has been teaching Zumba Fitness for 3 years. She is licensed in Zumba, Zumba Toning, Zumba Gold and soon Zumba Sentao. Nancy loves to dance and to work out, so Zumba Fitness was the one program that fit like a glove. She also helps others achieve their personal health needs, whether that be to loose a few, improve their cardiovascular systems, get into shape, or bring back the sexy! “I love teaching Zumba, but most of all I love the energy that I get from my students/participants in class.... they are the reason I do this!”
Danielle Ippolito A 10 year veteran in the Zumba fitness community, Danielle was the first certified instructor in NJ in 2003 and has also studied multiple disciplines of dance for over 25 years. Featured in the Zumba book, she also was chosen to represent Zumba in the Wyclef Jean music video; and has made appearances on the CBS morning show, Fox 5 News, WB11, and the Dr. OZ show.
