Digital Animation & 3D Design
Students graduating with the Digital Animation and 3D Design A.A.S. degree will have developed skills in modeling, editing, rendering and storyboarding. They will have gained command of the basic technical skills required in today's highly competitive animation industry. Students will complete courses that provide a balance of technical skills and aesthetic proficiency.
Graduates will develop many of the skills needed to succeed as artists, animators, storytellers, modelers, lighting directors, medical animators, set designers, and film directors. Courses focus on both the conceptual and the technical as students learn to communicate their ideas through motion to bring their animations to life.
Game Programming Option
This option is designed for students who are interested in the programming segment of game development. The emphasis is on developing the skills required to design, code and test programs which will ultimately become the backbone of an electronic game. This includes fundamental programming concepts as well as those demanded to develop interactive games.
Graduates of this program will be able to:
- Conceptualize an original game
- Create game documents
- Develop and test C++ code
- Use an Application Programming Interface to create 3D programs
- Modify a game using an existing game engine
About Us
Brookdale Community College offers a new Associates Applied Science degree program in The Digital Animation & 3D Design and a Game Programming option.
Career courses for the A.A.S. Degree program are taught by faculty in the Computer Science, Art, and Communications Media Departments.
Students enrolled in the Digital Animation & 3D Design program must successfully complete 20 credits in general education, 39 credits in career studies and a 3 credit elective. The courses and course sequence for each program/ option can be selected from the main menu.
The Computer Science and Art Department faculty have a rich history of teaching innovative technology. The new program/ option are a result of the collaborative effort to bring this educational opportunity to students of Monmouth County.
