New Pathways To TeachingBrookdale Community College is collaborating with participating New Jersey Community Colleges and New Jersey City University (NJCU) to offer New Pathways to Teaching in New Jersey (NPTNJ), an alternate route to teacher certification. The program provides an opportunity for people to become teachers who have a BS, BA, or higher degree and who did not complete a traditional teacher preparation program. Introduction To Teaching 24-hour Pre-Service ProgramNew! Anyone applying for a Certificate of Eligibility (CE) is required to complete the Introduction To Teaching 24-hour Pre-service Program. The New Pathways Program is a Department of Education approved provider of the Introduction To Teaching 24-hour Pre-Service Program. Course content will include:
This is a non-credit course with 20 hours of class work and a 4-hour classroom observation requirement. Upon successful completion, students will receive a certificate, as required by the NJ Department of Education, which documents their program completion.
