Welcome to the office of Dr. Jim Sulton, Executive Vice President for Administration, Operations, and Information Technology.
Among Dr. Sulton's responsibilities are the management of our major construction projects. These include about $40 million in planned reconstruction for the Collins Arena, the Fitness Center, the Automotive Technologies Center, and the Western Monmouth Higher Education Center.
In addition, he provides technology support for Brookdale’s institutional and academic infrastructure of 3,600 computer work stations.

Dr. Sulton comes to Brookdale from the State of Washington, where he served for four years as Executive Director of the State Higher Education Coordinating Board, and as a member of the Governor's Executive Cabinet. During his tenure on the New Jersey Commission, he had overall responsibility for statewide higher education planning, policy and advocacy, and collaborated with the New Jersey Council of College Presidents to implement and sustain the trilateral governance structure for statewide higher education.
A graduate of Howard University, Washington, D.C., Dr. Sulton received both his master's and doctoral degrees from The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. He was named an Associate of the Institute of African and Asian Studies at the University of Khartoum, Sudan, and pursued an intensive study program in the Arabic language at The American University in Cairo, Egypt.
