Credit By Exam

You may earn college credits by examination through the College Level Examination Program (CLEP).

With the CLEP system, a student who can demonstrate mastery in a particular area may attain compatible Brookdale credits by proving such mastery to a designated evaluator through the Brookdale Testing Center.

To register for Credit by Examination, students meet with academic counselors and faculty members in the chosen course area, and have registration forms signed by each. Students who are successful will be charged at the per credit Brookdale tuition rate.

A student registering for Credit by Examination, then not meeting standards for passing, may not revert to a class section without additional payment of tuition and fees, and will be charged an examination fee.
