EOF - Educational Opportunity Fund

The Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF program) is New Jersey’s only state-wide access and opportunity program providing low-income students financial assistance with meeting the costs of their college education at the undergraduate and graduate level, and a wide variety of services designed to promote and support their college success.

On a state-wide basis, over 13,000 students are enrolled in EOF programs at both two and four year colleges and universities, both public and private institutions. Since the start of the program in 1968 and to date- over 42,000 college graduates are EOF participants.

Brookdale's EOF Program

Students admitted to Brookdale’s program are highly motivated, goal-oriented, and committed to pursuing a program of study on a full-time basis leading to the completion of either a certificate equivalent to twenty-four credit hours in time or an Associates degree.

An EOF state grant of up to $1,050 per year is awarded to program participants, in addition to special funding for a variety of educational and career-related activities. While financial support is a key to providing college access and an ability to take advantage of a host of educational opportunities, the program’s support services are critical to helping students manage the college experience successfully. Support services include a college preparatory summer program designed to provide academic preparation for college entry as well as academic advisement, personal counseling, learning support, student leadership, achievement recognition, and career development and transfer services.

Applicants may be high school seniors or graduates, GED recipients, current Brookdale students with less than 40 degree credits, or transfer students with previous enrollment in an EOF program at another college.

For further details on our admission process including academic and financial requirements and important deadline dates, access our EOF brochure (Adobe Reader Required). Those interested in applying for admission may access our 2013-2014 EOF Admission Application (PDF). If you are seeking admission for the 2013-2014 academic year please contact the EOF office at the number listed below.

The EOF office may be reached at 732-224-2510, and email correspondence may be directed to the EOF Director, Mr. Morales-Wright at rmwright@brookdalecc.edu
