Counseling Services

All degree (matriculated students) are assigned a student development specialist / academic counselor to work with over the course of their educational career at Brookdale.

The counselor will assist degree-seeking students in selecting the courses that meet degree goals. The counselor generates a program plan form or a course registration form; students are then prepared to register, and should do so at the Office of Registration on the first available date.

All degree students should make an appointment with their counselor before registering for any subsequent term.

Meeting with a counselor is not required for non-degree students; however, counseling is available. Non-degree students wishing to consult counselors should inquire at the Admission Office to learn their counselor’s name and location. (Non-degree students should consult catalog course descriptions and the Master Schedule carefully. A non-degree student who drops a course or is dropped from a course because of the lack of appropriate pre-requisites will not receive a refund.)
